Home HIV test
Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence have been engaged in education and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases for over 40 years. In 1981, we issued the world’s first pamphlet ‘Play Fair.’ Currently, we focus on STI testing, particularly HIV.
We offer HIV self-testing kits for home use. Our tests can be found in several locations in Poznań. The free self-testing project is a pilot project thanks to WHO. To continue it, we need to assess the demand within various target groups. To do this, please fill out an anonymous survey when collecting the test. After completion, fold the sheet in half and seal it. Then return it to the staff.
Currently, tests are available at:
– Lokum Stonewall
– Sauna Amigo
– Kino Pokusa
– Club Dark Angels
– Club Come Back
– Check Piont in Poznań
If you think they should also be available elsewhere, email: mary.read@siostry.org.pl
Each test comes with instructions in Polish, English, and Czech. Also, check out the instructional video:
The test we offer is a rapid third-generation test. It can detect HIV infection as early as 3 weeks, but remember, to exclude infection, a third-generation test should be performed 12 weeks after the risky situation.
What if the test reacts? These are high-sensitivity screening tests to not miss any infections. However, a reactive result needs confirmation. You can confirm the test at several locations.
We recommend Consultation-Diagnostic Points. In Poznań, such a point is located at ul. Mickiewicza 5/4. It is open on Mondays and Thursdays from 16:00 to 20:00, and Fridays from 10:00 to 14:00. You can find PKD in other cities here.
Another option is Stonewall Clinic, where you can get a comprehensive check-up.
